Join us on November 11 for happy hour with Justin Crow, Fish Biologist for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at The Tavern on W 12th street. He will be presenting on a brief background of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and facility in San Marcos. As well as their mission at the San Marcos Aquatic Resources Center (a U.S. Fish and Wildlife facility), which is to provide a captive refugia for federally endangered and threatened species. Including monitoring habitat and research.
Justin Crow also has experience in the captive breeding and care of rare fish and aquatic salamander species such as the Texas Blind Salamander (Eurycea rathbuni) and the Barton Springs Salamander (Eurycea sosorum). His research focuses on the effects of environmental stressors on aquatic organisms. Justin obtained a B.Sc. from the University of Texas at Austin and a M.Sc. from Texas State University.
