Greenbelt Hike and Trash Pickup

From the Save Barton Creek Association –

Join us on this special hike as we explore the Barton Creek Greenbelt from the Spyglass entrance. We will be collecting trash on this hike, as well as learning about the Blue Index project from Kevin Jeffery – the mastermind behind it.

Blue Index is a student project designed to expand public participation in the protection and management of Austin waterways. Through a network of 30 stations that span 16 watersheds, outdoor space users are asked to share a photo, take an assessment, and lend their voice to this emerging collaborative effort.

Participants will have the opportunity to take a water assessment at the station located at The Flats. Additionally, trash collected on this hike will be used to create an Earthbench! Learn more about an Earthbench here:http://www.earthbench.org/earthbench-101.html
