Georgetown Sustainability Expo – 10/10/10 Global Work Party

A FREE all day Sustainability Expo in Georgetown – Georgetown’s first such event. Part of the 350.org worldwide event on this day, the 10/10/10 Global Work Party.

Partners include Southwestern University, Georgetown Utility Systems, Texas Disposal Systems, The Wilco Master Gardeners Association and a dozen other green builders, growers and eco-friendly innovators. We will explore solar and wind power, organic growing, urban farming, rainwater management, plants and soils, green building, recycled materials and resources, green roofs and green walls, and vertical gardening (for vertical cities).

Party refreshments provided by the Monument Cafe (which serves breakfast all day, has its own farm, and quietly has served whole food for years) We’re also showing a Green Wall we’ve started adjoining the Cafe building, and talking about the Green Roof already in progress.
