TreeFolks, in partnership with the City of Austin and with additional support from the Apache Foundation, Circuit of the Americas, and Sustainable Food Center, will be giving away 450 free fruit trees at the Sunset Valley Farmers’ Market on February 13 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. The event is free and open to the public, and the trees are available on a first come first served basis.

Most of the trees are designated for Austin Energy customers, but thanks to Circuit of the Americas, we will have 100 trees available for non AE customers. We’ll provide 2 trees per household. Bring your electric bill or driver’s license to prove Austin residency for trees.

We’ll have Satsuma orange, fig, peach, pear, plum, persimmon, and/or pomegranate trees. We’re going to be giving out all our remaining fruit trees for this event, so the exact quantity and varieties available is subject to change. Everything we have has been selected for vigor and adaptability to Austin’s soil and climate though.
