Want to connect with your community and learn more about your neighborhood trees? Want to be a citizen scientist or share stories about your favorite trees?

Join us on Saturday, March 14th at 5:30pm to learn how to map your trees for TreeFolks Austin Tree Map, Austin’s new collaborative community tree mapping project! We’ll talk about the value of mapping trees, how to map your trees, and how to share your favorite trees with your friends and community. Then we’ll have some fun trying out the app to map the trees around the Village at Western Oaks Karst Preserve.

To sign up for this and other free workshops, visit www.treefolks.org/tree-id/.

We recommend downloading the OpenTreeMap app on your smartphone or tablet and setting up a free user account before the mapping intro. To set up an account and explore the TreeFolks Austin Tree Map on your computer, go to www.opentreemap.org/treefolksaustin/map.

Bring water, good walking shoes, and dress for the weather.

TreeFolks Austin Tree Map was launched in 2015 with grants funded by The City of Austin’s Urban Forest Grant Program and The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority (CTRMA).
