From the Natural Gardener –

Saturday, July 1st at 10am – Tim Miller of Millberg Farm– presents “Water Conservation for Backyard Gardeners.”

Tim will tell us about his special techniques, what plants to plant, and how to plant them, such as planting tomatoes in a staggered pattern. To use water more efficiently, plants require certain nutrients and Tim will tell you just what’s needed. He has not used a drop of aquifer water in 26 years. In 2015, Tim was awarded the Blue Legacy Award for Water Conservation in recognition of his unique water saving techniques.

As a long time grower in Central Texas, as well working for Austin Community Gardens for 9 years, Tim has amassed a wealth of hands-on growing knowledge needed for successful vegetable gardening. Raising only heirloom crops, saving his own seeds and bulbs, and utilizing various water saving techniques has made Millberg Farm a truly sustainable farming enterprise.
