Saturday , November 11th at 10am – “So Ya Can’t Grow Lavender: Let’s Change That!”
Learn to grow lavender from Beth Patterson the current Education Coordinator and Past President for the Texas Lavender Association. Growing lavender in the flower bed can be a bit of a challenge but as a bee and butterfly friendly plant that loves the rocky cliché soil, everyone in the hill country needs to try it at least three times in three different locations in their garden.
In this workshop you will learn techniques for planting, growing and grooming lavender plants in order to have not only a successful experience but bigger, better blooms next summer. We will also cover the many things you can make with lavender buds and essential oils to make gifts for family and friends for the upcoming holidays. Check out the Texas Lavender Association for more information and about the many lavender businesses around the state of Texas.
After many years for working as a College Administrator Beth and her husband changed careers and become Nursery Professionals in the Dallas area. After 9 years of working at some of Dallas’ premier plant Nurseries, life took a turn and when Beth’s father past away her Mother asked her to come to Kerrville to complete their dream of owning their own nursery with a specialty of herbs, organic gardening and antique roses. It was at a Mother’s Day luncheon in the lavender fields of Blanco that both Russ and Beth changed their business plan. They have been involved in Lavender ever since!
