Saturday, September 17th at 10am – “Medicinal Plant Wildscaping” with a book signing!
What if many of the native plants – and even weeds – in our yard could be tonics and teas for our health and well being? Well, many are! Please join author and educator Nicole Telkes as we meander around the back yard of The Natural Gardener, learning from her the edible and medicinal plants here on the property. We’ll also learn how we can identify and create our own native and weedy wildscape for food and medicine.
Nicole Telkes is a Practicing Herbalist, RH(AHG) and naturalist from Austin. Her background is in botanical studies, plant conservation work, community activism, and herbal first aid. For the last 15 years, Nicole has traveled around wild and weedy corners of North America studying and using bioregional native and naturalized medicinal plants. She is the founder and lead teacher of the Wildflower School of Botanical Medicine in Austin. The Wildflower School offers one month to one year programs in community herbalism and clinical herbalism, along with Community Supported Herbalism Shares. She is bringing her book: The Medicinal Plants of Texas, and will be signing copies after class.
