Texas Tour to Defend the Arctic Refuge

Join renowned filmmaker/athlete/activist Miho Aida in defending the Arctic Refuge this summer! Miho Aida works tirelessly to protect the refuge by highlighting the stories of those leading the movement on the ground – the Gwich’in. Aida’s film “The Sacred Place Where Life Begins: Gwich’in Women Speak” transports us to the coastal plain of the the Arctic Refuge where the Gwich’in Nation has stewarded the land since time-immemorial. The film underscores the need for solidarity and collaboration amidst the threat of oil development in this special place.

From Filmmaker, Miho Aida:
This year we’ll be traveling through San Antonio, Austin and Houston and take this fight to Texas-based oil companies who are considering developing the Coastal Plain. We are honored have Athena Chilcote, a representative from the Gwich’in Nation traveling with us.
