Who We Are:

The Union of Musicians and Allied Workers (UMAW) has mobilized thousands of music workers to take part in our first actions around the COVID crisis, and we will continue to organize around issues such as demanding fairer deals from streaming services, ensuring musicians receive the royalties they are owed, establishing more just relationships with labels, and creating safer guidelines for venues.

Fair Pay at SXSW: The Showcase SXSW Doesn’t Want You to See! March 14th at the Hole In The Wall, 7pm-1:30am. This show is unofficial, open to all, and cosponsored by Fight for the Future, Demand Progress, Working Families Party, and Topshelf Records.

Suggested donation at the door. All funds will go to paying bands fairly and supporting UMAW in our mission to create a fairer and more just music industry.

We will also have a RALLY on Thursday, 3/16 at 11 am that will feature speeches from musicians, UMAW members, and other allied organizations. Meet at the Convention Center on the corner of Trinity and E Cesar Chavez.
