We’ll Explore the Trail and share our stories about the community-led efforts for environmental justice, health and edible landscapes.
Join EastLink neighbors for a few hours of story sharing as we take the Trail by bike, trike and rides. Meet the activists, community leaders and the artists that have shaped our communities and share your own stories of the places and spaces that define our lived experience in East Austin.
We’ll make a few stops along the Trail starting just south of Metz Recreation Center and finishing the ride with a shared meal in Rosewood Park.
Additional event details will arrive in your registration confirmation email. If you need a set of wheels or a ride, you can note this in your reservation. This event is free for all.
WHAT IS EASTLINK?
EastLink is an existing, five-mile, urban trail from Bartholomew Park to Lady Bird Lake that safely connects residents to parks and pools, schools and recreation centers, grocery stores and community gardens, cultural and historic sites, local merchant districts, public transportation and bike lanes + so much more.
WHAT’S HAPPENING THERE NOW?
Efforts are currently underway to collect the histories and needs of the communities along the EastLink Trail. We hope this will inform future physical and experiential improvements along the trail that are rooted in the community’s values and history.
HOW DO I GET INVOLVED?
Join the rides! With such rich culture and history along the EastLink Trail, we are asking our neighbors to explore the trail with us and share their stories and desires to co-create the future of the Trail. Visit the project site – eastlinkaustin.com – to get more information and find ways you can be involved.
