BREAK IT DOWN: ESSENTIAL KNIFE SKILLS

Cooking is so much easier when you know how to handle a knife. In this class, you’ll learn how to slice, dice, chop and chiffonade like a pro. You’ll go home with a ready-to-use vegetable bounty, in addition to recipes that incorporate your veggies! We’ll have knives for you, but feel free to bring your own.
SFC Farmers’ Market vendor, Weige Knives, will join us to show you how to select, sharpen, care for and store your knives. Bring your knives from home to have them professionally sharpened during class for a few extra dollars.
The entire class will be active, so please eat beforehand and dress appropriately for the kitchen (closed-toe shoes, comfortable clothes, hair tie for long hair, etc.). Please bring many large, reusable containers to bring home your chopped veggies.
Classes are for adults; teenagers may participate with a parent or guardian present.
