This class will teach hands-on, essential skills for beekeepers who are ready to install a new package of bees into their hive or for beginner beekeepers that want to learn more about the necessary equipment. Using the new apiary in the SFC Teaching Garden, Tara Chapman of Two Hives Honey will demonstrate how to introduce a package of bees into the hives. The class will then light smokers (one of the hardest things about beekeeping!) and look at options for gear and clothing. Please bring your own smoker.
