The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced a proposed action to reduce harmful emissions of sulfur dioxide (SO2) to improve visibility at some of Texas’ and Oklahoma’s most treasured parks and wilderness areas and to protect public health. The proposed plan will be open to a 60-day public comment period. EPA will hold a public hearing in Austin on January 13, 2015.
The Sierra Club rally starts at 3:30 PM, then the EPA hearing from 4:00-8:00 PM. Sierra Club will provide fact sheets and talking points for those wishing to speak at the hearing. Dinner and refreshments will be provided at the hearing location.
Please RSVP for this event with The Sierra Club. Contact the Sierra Club Lead Regional Organizer, Sarah Sharif @ sarah.sharif@sierraclub.org if you have additional questions.
