Earth Day Austin’s mission is reinventing sustainability as an unprecedented cultural phenomenon with equity at the center. We provide a venue and a platform for businesses, advocacy groups, nonprofits, government organizations, and community leaders to connect with the public in the interest of sustainability, innovation and environmental justice. While our flagship program is the Earth Day ATX festival, our greater purpose is to facilitate coordination among community stakeholders to develop and implement scalable, systemic, community-driven solutions.

Austin’s citywide sustainability festival returns for it’s 54th year. Join us for a day of music, food, exhibits, panels, movement, awards, and activities for all ages. Family friendly.

 

Earth Day ATX, Austin’s annual citywide event, will return to the Huston-Tillotson University campus on Saturday, April 20th from 12 to 5 pm. This family friendly event is produced by Earth Day Austin, a 501c3, and is free and open to the public. The festival will include hands-on activities for all ages, food, music, guided movement activities, conversations and exhibits. The event is valued for its immersive, diverse, and rich programming and is entirely free to the public.

 

We include highly interactive and hands-on activities for all ages, as well as community service projects.

 

The theme of this year’s event will be “Make It Personal” and will include such features as:
  • a beautiful kid’s zone
  • an amazing array of electric vehicles, hosted by Austin EV
  • Spanish, ASL and SLM interpretation
  • exhibits from businesses and nonprofits
  • local food
  • planetarium
  • hands on activities on a variety of eco-topics
  • an electric school bus and a variety of electric vehicles
  • an instrument petting zoo
  • a gratitude wall
  • community-centered marketplaces
  • Native American fry bread
  • panels with local experts on topics such as: Climate Resilience, Green Tech & Public Health, and EV Justice.
