Welcome to the 25th Annual Cool House Tour, a collaboration between Austin Energy Green Building (AEGB) and the Texas Solar Energy Society (TXSES).

In honor of our 25th anniversary, the tour is FREE to the public this year! Register in advance to receive login information. Professionals and students interested in earning continuing education credits can choose to purchase a CEU ticket.

This year’s virtual tour features a mixed-use condo tower, an affordable multifamily community, two east Austin backyard dwellings, a modern home in west Austin and a suburban home designed for a challenging site. These six properties showcase:

  • Value-driven decisions

  • Climate responsive design

  • Healthy material selections

  • Energy efficiency strategies

  • Water-saving methods

  • Renewable energy options

The tour will highlight both the homes and the teams that made them possible in up-close conversations with owners, architects and contractors. Get your questions ready for them and either join us for the entire tour or tune in for specific homes:

  • 10:00 am: Welcome and introduction

  • 10:10 am: Modern urban home

  • 10:45 am: Downtown condo development

  • 11:20 am: Backyard family dwelling

  • 12:00 pm: Lunch break

12:30 pm: Alley office + retreat

  • 1:05 pm: Suburban hillside nest

  • 1:45 pm: Affordable housing community

  • 2:20 pm: Closing
