COMMUNITY GARDEN LEADERSHIP TRAINING
November 14, 2015 9am – 1pm
Community gardens offer individuals and families space to grow their own food, regardless of where they live. They also improve urban landscapes by turning underutilized lots into vibrant green spaces, and they create opportunities for neighbors and gardeners to form lifelong friendships. Find out how to contribute to vitality of your neighborhood by starting a community garden.
In this workshop, we will cover: community organizing, how to secure land, garden organization structures, and fundraising & community outreach. There is a high interest in community gardening in Austin, and very limited spaces available at the current community gardens. Come learn about how we can work together to start and sustain successful community gardens.
Fee to reserve your spot: $5.
