A chance to see the highlights of the park: Gorman Creek from the Falls to the Spring and the new tinaja trail. Among our target species will be Zone-tailed Hawk, Black-capped Vireo, Golden-cheeked Warbler, Painted Bunting, Yellow-billed Cuckoo, Bobwhite, Ash-throated Flycatcher, Blue Grosbeak, Black-throated Sparrow, Lark Sparrow, Canyon Towhee, Summer Tanager and Louisana Waterthrush. All breaders in the park and adding their voices to the dawn chorus. The wildflowers are also magnificent. The trails we will hike are rugged and rocky, some short sections are steep. We will walk approximately 5 miles. In order to finish the walk before it gets too hot we need to start at day-break. It is a 2 hour drive from Austin to CBSP. This requires leaving Austin at 4:30 am.
