As presidential hopefuls begin to announce their candidacies and our new Congress works to define their priorities, this is a key moment to keep up the pressure for real climate leadership and a Green New Deal. We’ve already seen the power of activists mobilizing in the halls of Congress to change the future of climate politics and make the Green New Deal a possibility. Let’s keep it up.
That’s why on February 8th we’re joining a national day of action and bringing the call for real climate leadership to three Texas State Representatives: Gina Hinojosa, Donna Howard, and Erin Zweiner. We will ramp up our call for a Green New Deal by publicly calling on our elected leaders to commit to a just and equitable transition to a world free from fossil fuels, support green jobs, reject fossil fuel money, and endorse a Green New Deal.
We’ll gather in front of the State House on Friday, February 8, at 8:00 AM. We’ll go over the plan, then march to the offices to deliver thousands of petitions calling on our Texas Representatives to step up and be the real climate leader we need. If you arrive late, here’s our schedule…
