I’d like to invite all members of Austin EcoNetwork to the Sierra Club’s first big event of the year here in Austin. We’re hosting the Clean Power Plan Campaign Kickoff this Tuesday, September 30th, at 7pm at Scholz Garten (1607 San Jacinto Blvd., Austin TX) and we’d love to get as much community support as possible.
This is an event to build community support for the Austin Beyond Coal Campaign and the EPA’s Clean Power Plan. First, we will hear from an expert on the Clean Power Plan, then break out into smaller groups where we will discuss the ways to make the campaign more visible in the community and strategies for coalitions and grassroots pressure. There will be a station for signing petitions in support of the Clean Power Plan being implemented in Texas and a station for writing letters to the editor. We will also enjoy great food, drinks, and company with like-minded people from the area!
If you are unable to attend yourself, feel free to spread the word and invite anyone you feel would enjoy the event! Below is a link to the event page on Facebook.
