Civics 101: Virtual Happy Hour With A Functional Democracy

Join A Functional Democracy co-founders, Amy Stansbury and Hal Wuertz, and Shoal Creek Conservancy for a crash course on all things Austin politics and ways to support parks, trails, and especially Shoal Creek! During this interactive virtual event on 10/13 at 5 pm, we’ll cover the basics of local government, how to get involved, as well as some specifics that’ll help you advocate for your local parks and trails.
Registrants will receive a copy of “A Beginner’s Guide To Local Government” while supplies last. This zine is an easy-to-read (and fun) guide that walks you through all the basics about how Austin’s local government system works… and most importantly, how to get involved.
