In December, Austin’s Mayor Steve Adler and Brandi Clark Burton attended the C40 Mayors Summit 2016 in Mexico City. The event, convened by the C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group, rallied 40 mayors from around the world and sustainability representatives of 90 cities to focus on the leadership needed by cities to hit the targets in the Paris Agreement. They also released the report Deadline 2020: How cities will get the job done which outlines the scale and scope of actions needed if we hope to avert more than a +1.5C global temperature rise. Come learn about the big picture, what Austin is doing, and what you can do to help ensure a climate safe future.
Mexico City hosted the sixth biennial C40 Mayors Summit, November 30 – December 2, 2016.
