Protect The West

From the Children In Nature Collaborative of Austin (CiNCA) –

This interactive workshop will explore the history of environmental racism as it relates to people of color, parks & public spaces in Austin.
Be sure to RSVP. These events tend to fill up fast!

About this Event

The Community Archivists from the Austin History Center will provide an historical overview of the local ordinances and national movements which exacerbated already tenuous race relations in Austin. Workshop attendees will then participate in small group discussions to unpack the historical and contemporary contexts in which people of color (dis)engage with parks and public spaces today.

Some food and snacks will be provided – feel free to bring your own lunch!
