Join Austin Parks and Recreation for CelebrASIA at the Asian American Resource Center (AARC) at 8401 Cameron Rd. on Saturday, May 14 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in honor of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month. This family-friendly festival is free and open to the public. There will be performance groups, musicians, and hands-on activities by AARC and community organizations. Lala’s Kitchen, and Mama Kong will be selling food on site.
Get ready for performances from Lara Price Band, Austin Taiwanese Association, Myanmar Chin Cultural Unity, Formosa Association of Students Culture Ambassador (FASCA), Austin Japanese Minyo Group, Navrus School of Performing Arts, Baila Pacifica Entertainment, The Love of China, ATX Korean Dance Crew, Diversity Band, and Don Bosco Lion Dance!
Asian Family Support Services of Austin, Austin Asian Community Health Initiative, Austin History Center, Austin Public Library, Dougherty Arts Center, George Washington Carver Museum, and Oakwood Cemetery are some of the local community organizations taking part in the celebration. CelebrASIA will also be an opportunity to learn more about the AARC Phase 2 Expansion Project and Performing Arts Center.
