  • Join us at the Carver for two days of programming honoring the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

    January 15

    Crafts Fit for a King:
    11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. The Drum (Lobby)

    Join us for a day of creative expression honoring the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Patrons are invited to explore several come-and-go art stations throughout the day, creating unique works of art inspired by Dr. King’s message, vision, and lasting impact. Throughout the crafting experience, some of Dr. King’s most acclaimed speeches will be streamed in the lobby, allowing participants to reflect, create, and engage with his powerful words.

    Evening Film Screening: Boyd Vance Theater
    6:00 p.m. – King in the Wilderness (Not Rated)

    Following the screening, guests are invited to enjoy cake and punch.

    Carver Celebrates King: Celebrating the life Of Dr. Martin Luther King

    Meet a Local Civil Rights Icon:
    11:35 a.m.- 12:30 p.m.- L.C Anderson Exhibit

    Mr. Alexander Porter shares his experiences as one of the nation’s first Black FBI agents, including his work under J. Edgar Hoover and his involvement in the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. case.
