The CSD, in collaboration with the UT Office of Sustainability and the Campus Environmental Center, will help to host a two-day event, September 9-10, 2010, showcasing the many sustainability-related research projects and operations initiatives here on campus. This event is co-sponsored by the LBJ School of Public Affairs, the Center for Teaching and Learning, and the Environmental Science Institute.
Thursday, September 9th, several UT facilities, such as the power and water plants and various other facilities, will be offering tours throughout the day for members of the UT community to learn about the operations side of sustainability on campus. Later that evening, in Gearing Hall Rm. 105, the Campus Environmental Center will be hosting their annual Earth Summit, a panel discussion focused on green buildings and energy management, with key stakeholders from across campus.
On Friday, September 10th, the CSD will be hosting a full-day symposium, where members of the UT community will be giving over twenty short presentations covering a wide variety of topics. This event will be held in the Bass Lecture Hall (located within the LBJ School’s Sid Richardson Hall) from 8:45 am until 3:45 pm. Lunch and refreshments will be provided, as well as USB drives containing presentations and essays from the topics covered throughout the day. See the Schedule of Events for a list of presentations.
