Cultivate Mental Wellness, Embrace Serenity, and Find Balance while Honoring Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage & Mental Health Awareness Month with BRAVE Communities!

We invite you to celebrate Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage and Mental Health Awareness month in May. Step into a sanctuary of balance, mindfulness, and empowerment as you join us for our FREE monthly BRAVE Communities Connection – Harmony in Motion: Tai Chi for Wellness, Mental Health, and AAPI Awareness in May! In this immersive and inclusive gathering, we aim to create a nurturing space that celebrates cultural heritage while prioritizing the well-being of the mind, body, and spirit.

Through an engaging introduction to Tai Chi philosophy and its benefits, attendees will gain insights into the rich history and meaning of culture and serenity. Led by an experienced instructor, Vince Cobalis, participants will be guided through Tai Chi movements, allowing them to experience the flow of harmony and energy. As we move together in a CommUNITY practice session, we’ll foster connections and unity – embracing the diversity that enriches our shared experience.

Anticipated Agenda:
⭐ 1:45pm Doors Open & Networking
⭐ 2:15pm Introduction to Tai Chi philosophy and its health benefits
⭐ 2:30pm Tai Chi Demonstration + CommUNITY practice session
⭐ 3:15pm Q&A Session
⭐ 3:30pm Refreshments & Networking
Refreshments provided. Free with RSVP, invite your family, friends, and neighbors of ALL ages! The Austin History Center is ADA accessible and walking distance within a CapMetro bus stop. Free metered parking on Sundays.

We’d like to thank our sponsors, Hogg Foundation and Austin Against Hate “We All Belong” for continuing to support BRAVE Communities and their mission to co-create more just and equitable spaces for diversity to flourish. And, our BRAVE Members whose recurring contributions help to sustain our free monthly workshops and weekly BRAVE Young Leader workshop.
