Barton SPrings Salamander Habitat Conservation Plan Renewal Meeting

The Barton PSrings Salamander (Eurycea sosorum) is an endangered species and only lives in four spring habitats associated with Barton Springs Pool. The salamander is protected by the fenderal Endangered Species Act, and the city is renewing the U.S. Fish and Wilkdlife Service permit to allow the City to maintain Barton Springs Pool for both swimmers and the salamanders. The first step in the renewal of hte permit is for the City to draft a Habitat Conservation Plan (HCP) to specify how City activities impact the species.
