Join River Watchers and the community for a MLK Jr Day of Service Cleanup and Restoration Volunteer Event on Monday, January 21st from 10am to 12pm at Buttermilk Creek & Park.
On January 15, 2018, millions will come together to volunteer and honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, who never stopped asking the question, “What are you doing for others?” The MLK Jr Day of Service is a moment to work together to fulfill King’s vision for a better America – it’s a day “on” instead of a day off.
Join the River Watchers for our MLK Jr Day of Service event to help clean and restore Buttermilk Creek in Buttermilk Park, with our friends at the St. John Neighborhood Association! Volunteer activities will include removing trash from the Buttermilk Park Greenbelt and creek area. (All tools and supplies will be provided.)
Location and parking:
Buttermilk Park and Creek are located behind the St. John Community Center/St. John Branch Library, 7500 Blessing Ave., Austin, TX 78752. Parking is available in the lot in front of the library.
Considerations: Appropriate for elementary age children accompanied by an adult. All activities will be outside. There’s no restroom on site. If the event is cancelled, you will be sent an update to the email address you used to sign up.
