Austin Organic Gardeners Club January meeting

From the Austin Organic Gardeners Club –

Please join the Austin Organic Gardeners club for our first meeting of 2019 with  Joseph ‘Pete’ Van Dyck of Van Dyck Earthworks & Design discussing, “Drought Proof Texas”.

Pete will discuss the history and patterns of flooding and drought in central Texas and the link between photosynthesis and soil fertility with the land’s ability to hold moisture. Pete’s talk will also include strategies for harvesting water in the landscape starting from the hilltop all the way down to bottom lands, including contours, cover crops, and sheet mulching.
