Austin Energy Green Building Professional Development Seminar: Pollutants and Construction

The release of pollutants during the construction phase is a major concern with respect to site and overall building sustainability. At this seminar, participants will:
- Learn how construction site pollution fits into the context of overall site sustainability
- Learn to identify pollutants released during the construction phase and their sources
- Learn different strategies for mitigating the release of pollutants during the construction phase
- Apply knowledge of construction phase pollution to local case studies—including Water Treatment Plant #4—in a problem-solving exercise

Presenter:
Thomas E. Ennis, P.E., LEED AP, an innovator, leader, collaborator and manager with over 25 years’ experience. Tom brings a combined experience in both private consulting and government work. For over 5 years, Tom has been a division manager of one of the greenest City of Austin divisions, the Environmental Resource Management Division of Watershed Protection. This group is nationally recognized for technical rigor, leadership and education.
