Registration is now open for the FREE Sustainability Conference hosted by AISD's Environmental Stewardship Advisory Committee on October 5 from 11:30 AM-3:00 PM at Small Middle School. This is an opportunity for teachers, staff, parents, high school students and community members to get inspired, learn and share experiences with green initiatives in schools. Topics range from walk-to-school programs, to sustainable school grounds, gardening and outdoor learning, to zero-waste practices.
Following the conference is the family-friendly Green Festival at Small Middle School that features, a Green Schools Showcase, fun, food and more for $10 admission fee, to support Small's Green Tech Academy.
The Environmental Stewardship Advisory Committee (ESAC) assists the district in being a recognized example of environmental education, stewardship, and sustainability. To accomplish its purpose, the ESAC serves as an advisory body to the Superintendent, who is responsible for administrative decisions and for providing administrative recommendations to the Board for approval.
