From A Functional Democracy –
You are officially invited to a more functional democracy.
On Tuesday October 2nd, in the year 2018, join your fellow lovers of local democracy to explore, engage, interact, ask questions, confess unknowns, and get ready to vote this November.
Join us in celebrating the launch of “A Beginner’s Guide To Local Government,” an activity book/zine that teaches Austinites how to get involved in local government and make a difference in their community.
—The opportunity to meet real live local elected officials (including Council members Greg Casar and Delia Garza) and candidates running for office
—Interactive civic art installations
—Inspiration from local Austin heroes who have led political movements and brought real change to this community
—The “Beginner’s Guide To Local Government” book of course!!
PS – Are you a total political novice? Do you feel like you should be more involved in local government, but don’t know where to start? Feeling a little embarrassed because you don’t know who the mayor of Austin is?
Never fear because this is just the event for you! The time to make a change starts now. You can do this 🙂
PPS – Did you donate to our Kickstarter campaign? If the answer is yes, then you don’t need to buy a ticket! Check your email inbox for an extra special (and free) thank-you ticket 🙂
