5604 Manor Community Garden Dinner and a Movie Night

The 5604 Manor Community Garden group is sponsoring its first free Dinner and a Movie night on Thursday May 23rd from 7-10pm. 



We will be screening “The Garden” (http://www.thegardenmovie.com/), which follows the struggle of farmers against politicians and developers. Started as a form of healing after the 1992 Los Angeles riots, the South Central farmers grew their own food and created a community. When the space was threatened by the city, immigrants from Latin America organized and spoke out.



Dinner will be outside and include dishes made with produce from our community garden. Feel free to bring a pot luck dish to share with everyone. We’ll eat and update everyone with the progress of the 5604 Manor Garden and inform folks on how to get involved in the garden. 

Dinner and socializing starts at 7 pm, with the film at 8 pm. The film is in English and will have Spanish subtitles.
