2nd Annual Barton Springs Pool Treeathlon

Join us for the second annual Barton Springs Pool Treeathlon — very, very short, fun and family-oriented event to raise “fun” and funds for Barton Springs Pool. Treeathletes will swim ACROSS Barton Springs Pool, bike a short loop around Zilker Park, and then run a short course around the Polo Fields.Presented by Friends of Barton Springs Pool in cooperation with Austin Parks Foundation, the Treeathlon is a semi-silly athletic endeavor to raise fun and tax deductible funds for restoring the original rotunda entrance to the Bathhouse and other pool-related work of Friends of Barton Springs Pool.

Building on the success of last year’s event, this will be a family-oriented event so that families with kids can be introduced to the joys of Barton Springs Pool and have a little taste of triathlons.

Registration fees: Early registration (April 15) –  $25 for single, $40 for family (up to four family members).  Late registration (April 15 through race day) — $30 for single, $45 for family.  If you’re not already registered with the USA Triathlon, you’ll need to purchase a $10 single-day triathlon license ($5 for kids under 18) at the online registration site (below) or at the day of the event.  At registration, please specify your t-shirt size.  Shirts ordered before April 20 will be made available at the event, and shirts ordered after April 20 will be separately ordered and priced accordingly.

Benefits: Participants will support Barton Springs Pool and the efforts to restore the original Bathhouse entrance to its original location at the central glass rotunda.  In addition, participants will receive an official BSP Treeathlon t-shirt, hear the percussion sounds of Rhythmic Force, and enjoy some cool brews and other food and refreshments from local vendors and supporters of the Pool.  Additional benefits include a one year membership with Friends of Barton Springs Pool.

Registration:  Online registration is available at http://www.myraceregistration.com/EventView.asp?EVID=111.  If you absolutely must, you can register the morning of April 30, but do so at the registration table by the Polo Field parking area before 9:00 am.
