[Expo] Saturday, March 21st from 10am to 3:30pm is the Summit Smithville Green Expo on Main Street, Smithville. There will be vendors and exhibitors set up along the street, as well as several speaker panels hosted in the Playhouse Smithville. The purpose of the expo is to teach people how to lead a greener lifestyle in small, rural communities. More info>>
[Swap] Saturday, March 21st from noon to 4pm is the Austin Sustainable Swap at the RE:aRT space behind 2608 Rogers Avenue. This free community event is an opportunity to share all types of materials and services and exchange them with fellow Austinites who have something else to offer. Anything that is left over will go to SafePlace, an organization that helps victims of sexual and domestic violence. The sustainable swap is a great way to meet new people and divert wastefrom the landfill, all the same time. More info>>
[Town Hall] Saturday, March 21st from 1pm to 3pm council member Sheri Gallo is hosting a town hall meeting on neighborhood parks in District 10 at the Austin Board of Realtors offices on Spicewood Springs Road. The meeting will include representatives from the Austin Parks and Recreation and Public Works departments. Any District 10 residents who want to raise any issues or concerns with the parks in their neighborhood should attend. This is the perfect opportunity to talk to your city council member and have your voice be heard. More info>>
[Green Building] Tuesday, March 24th from 11am to 1pm is the next class in Austin Energy Green Building's Green Boots series. This week, the class will cover cost saving green building strategies and practices. The class costs$20 for Home Builders Association members and $25 for non-members and will be held at the Phillips Event Center. More info>>
[Preview Class] Wednesday, March 25th from 5pm to 7pm the Sustainable Food Center is hosting a free spring class preview night for anyone interested in learning more about what SFC has to offer. There will be cooking demonstrations and booths showing off the many skills you can learn at SFC classes, including composting, water conservation, and herb gardening.More info>>
