[Bee Meeting] Monday, July 20th at 7pm the Austin Area Beekeepers Association is having its monthly meeting at the Old Quarry Branch Library. The Austin Area Beekeepers Association is a social group of people who are interested in getting together to chat about honeybees and other pollinators, share books and ideas on the subject, and establish some cooperatively managed honeybee colonies around town. At their July meeting, Meridian Hive Meadery will be giving a talk about the process of making mead. Both experienced beekeepers and wannabe beekeepers should attend. More info>>
[Happy Hour] Tuesday, July 21st from 5:30pm to 8pm Solar Austin is hosting a happy hour at Scholz Garten. The topic of discussion will be the Property-Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) program in Travis County. PACE is an innovative financing program that enables property owners to obtain low-cost, long-term financing for water conservation, energy efficiency, and renewable energy projects. Travis County Commissioner Brigid Shea will be speaking. More info>>
[Happy Hour] Wednesday, July 22nd from 5:30pm to 7pm the Sustainable Food Center is hosting Wine Wednesday at their headquarters on East 17th Street. The evening will feature cocktails from the Tipsy Texan, bites from Gusto Italian Kitchen + Wine Bar, and a tour of the SFC Teaching Garden. Tickets are $15 and the proceeds benefit the Sustainable Food Center. More info>>
[Nature Night] Thursday, July 23rd from 6pm to 9pm the Nature Nights series continues at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center. This week's theme is,"Birds of Prey." The highlight of the evening will be a special presentation from the Blackland Prairie Raptor Center, featuring live birds. And as always, the event is free and kid-friendly. More info>>
