Comprehensive Urban Forest Plan for Austin – Take Part

The City of Austin is developing a Comprehensive Urban Forest Plan for all city-managed property, which will include recommendations for transportation corridors. This plan will take into consideration all resources related to the urban forest and because people are part of this resource, a measure of public opinion and values is essential for determining how urban forest decisions are made. As a result of our central Texas climate, tree canopy and alternative transportation are intimately tied. The City of Austin needs input from alternative transportation users in developing their urban forest goals. Your input can ultimately help the City better incorporate trees into transportation planning processes.

Please share your thoughts with the City by taking Tree Be-leafs: An Urban Forest Opinion Survey. The results will help inform and guide City staff and the Urban Forestry Board in making long-term decisions that affect Austin's urban forest. Share the survey link with friends, family, and anyone who wishes to speak for the trees. The survey can be taken at www.austinurbanforestry.org
