Love food? Have a business idea to make our food system more sustainable? Then the Food + City Challenge is just the competition for you.
The Food + City Challenge has partnered with SXSW to create a pitch competition with a $50,000 grand prize.
Here’s how it works – Applications will be accepted until November 18th. After that, a group of finalists will be selected and paired with qualified mentors to help them prepare for the pitch competition in March. On Prize Day, finalists will pitch and demonstrate their startup businesses before a panel of judges and SXSW attendees.
Who should apply?
The Food + City Challenge is looking for a process, product, service or technology that solves a problem within the “to” of Farm to Table. Examples of what the competition is looking for include energy-saving tools that lower the carbon footprint of our food supply and systems that decrease waste by getting more food through the supply chain.
