Austin’s parks have been receiving some big grants lately. Last month, the Austin Nature and Science Center won a $20,000 grant from the National Recreation and Park Association and the Walt Disney Company. The money will go toward anew climbing wall for the Austin Nature and Science Center’s Climbing to New Heights program, which teaches children and families how to rock climb. More info>>

Austin also recently won a $50,000 grant from JetBlue for a new green space, park, or garden. Few details have been released on how exactly the money will be spent, but Austin did beat out eight other U.S. cities in an online contest to win the award. More info>>
