Our series on homelessness continues with an overview of Austin’s emergency shelter capacity, a key component of our city’s homelessness services system. 


As a reminder, our goal with this series is to

  • Explain (as simply as possible) exactly how our homelessness services system currently works and where there’s room for improvement 

  • Identify solutions by highlighting organizations both within and outside of Austin city limits who are actually making progress on this difficult issue, which is impacting people across the country.
