Now that classes have moved online for local students, there are thousands of Austinites in jeopardy of missing out on their education because they lack access to a computer. Luckily, there’s a way you can help.
AISD has partnered with Austin Free-Net and Ruckify (a peer-to-peer rental marketplace) to get electronics into the hands of students who need it.
Here’s how it works:
Simply go through your house and collect any tablets, laptops, or computers that you’re not using.
Visit this website, fill out the form, and select whether you want to lend or donate your items.
Ruckify will pick up your items and make sure they get delivered to students in need.
If you choose to loan out your equipment, it will be insured under Ruckify’s coverage for damages or if anything goes missing.
