AUTUMN 2009 BIOREGIONAL CAMPOUT

November 25 @ 11:58 pm

POSTED ON BEHALF OF TED NORRIS

Dear BioRegionalists,

It is time for us to focus on what we know in our hearts must happen if we are to live and thrive together upon our little Earth. And though it will take individual effort, it will seem and in fact be easier to the extent that we see ourselves as a team and as co-creators in our own lives. There are numerous ways to go from here. We will focus on four directions during the week-end: Consciousness/Spirituality, Food and Water Security, Community Building, and Energy. See the attachment for more information about each.

The 5th Direction is PARTY:
So let’s celebrate !! Gratitude and celebration are among the strongest consciousness-raising generators that exist. My Birthday occurs during this Campout weekend. I invite all Bioregionalists and Libras, and people who love, respect and/or like Libras and/or Bioregionalists to join us Saturday evening, for a special potluck supper and Birthday and Hill Country celebration. And celebration takes place throughout the weekend!

Where: Mary DeWitt’s house in Creedmore (just south of Austin). See directions below.

What to bring:
Beginning Friday evening, each Breakfast, Dinner and Supper (Texas traditional names for the three meals – kinda Bioregional info, huh ??)) will be potluck, so bring food to share for each. We will likely spend most of our time away from the main house, so count on no electricity and would be good to bring some drinking water. Remember, this will be close enough to drive back and forth, so you don’t have to camp. There will be covered places for you to throw a bedroll, palette, or cot if you don’t want to set up a tent but want to stay out at Mary’s. You might enjoy having a hat, acoustic musical instruments, maybe a small table or two from a couple of you, a chair (We should have some folding chairs.), maybe ice chests and some of you may want to bring a self-contained cooker. (Jenny is in Colorado so her solar cooker won’t likely make it.) We will likely have a small fire, so anyone having an appropriate grill might bring it.
