Hot Science – Cool Talks Presents: Hurricanes in the Gulf of Mexico: The History and Future of the Texas Coast

November 27 @ 10:48 pm

Major storms are threatening communities across the U.S. and Gulf of Mexico. With images of Hurricane Sandy, Ike, and Katrina still fresh in our minds, it is important for Texans to understand how and why regional climate patterns are predicted to influence the intensity of future storms.

On January 8, 2013, Dr. Kerry Emanuel will provide insights into Texas’ stormy past and future during a highly-anticipated Hot Science – Cool Talks lecture entitled “Hurricanes in the Gulf of Mexico: The History and Future of the Texas Coast”.

This FREE lecture will take place at the University of Texas at Austin Campus – Student Activity Center (SAC) at 7:00 p.m. A pre-lecture fair featuring engaging displays and activities will begin at 5:45 p.m. Discounted Parking will be available in the San Jacinto Parking Garage (SAC).
