Eco-Art Fest Combines Art, Environment, & Youth Empowerment
WHAT: Eco-Art Fest for youth and families, launch of new nonprofit youth program.
WHEN: Saturday, August 18th, 6-10pm
WHERE: The Austin Eco-School Campus, 4105 Manchaca, ATX 78704
WHY: Celebrating the launch of a new nonprofit afterschool program teaching art, environmental sustainability, and team-building to youth in South Austin.
DESCRIPTION:
Event includes:
- Live music by local youth including Only Human, Southern Longoria, Chi-Town (of the Cipher Hip Hop Project) Sam Hammerman, Chris McCoy, and poets from the Under 21 Slam Team.
- Free food made from local ingredients
- Interactive art projects using recycled materials including flower pots, masks, music makers, or whatever someone wants to make.

Sustainability workshops including Wicking Bed Building (water-efficient garden bed) by Food is Free, growing plant starts, and chicken wing clipping.
Event is totally free and family friendly.

GrowinTogether Afternoon Enrichment Program fuses the creative arts with environmental sustainability in a mixed income, group-centered environment. With Freedom and love we're growing a healthy, beautiful, sustainable world. Program runs Mon-Fri, 3:45-6pm on the EcoSchool campus. Now Enrolling youth ages 5-14.
