Consumer Conservation Workshop (by A Nurtured World)

November 26 @ 3:30 am

Registration (FREE) is open for A Nurtured World’s distinguished “Consumer Conservation” workshop in Austin on Thursday, September 3rd, 2009. The EPA funded event is available at no charge and will be held at the Travis County “Elections” training room (5501 Airport Blvd). Registration opens at 8am with the event going from 8:30am – 4:30pm.

What is it?
This interactive workshop combines useful and practical information about how our actions impact the environment – particularly air quality – with thought-provoking inquiry into why people get ‘stuck’ and can’t shift their behaviors. The design of the course allows people to cause real results in the areas of financial savings, personal satisfaction, and environmental sustainability. Attendees explore their personal goals in these three areas, identify actions to achieve their goals, and learn about city programs and other resources to help them succeed. Graduates go on to make changes at home (and often in their community/workplace) that conserve natural resources, reduce air emissions, and save money. Follow-up interviews among the 1,500+ graduates show the average attendee is saving $2,000 per year and reducing carbon emissions by 2.1 tons per year!

Who Should Attend?
Any consumers dealing with everyday issues (i.e., driving a car, buying food, and paying utility bills) will benefit greatly from attending this training. Anyone involved in environmental outreach and measurement, particularly around improving air quality in Central Texas, is also encouraged to attend. Bottom-line: If you want to benefit your pocket-book, quality of life, and the planet, this training is for you. Please share this opportunity by forwarding the invitation and flyer to others who may be interested.

How do I Register?
The workshop may reach capacity (65 people), so register early by emailing Deanna@NurturedWorld.org. IMPORTANT: Please include your full name, organization, title, and contact information. Please direct questions about course content to Justin@NurturedWorld.org or call 512.784.5590. Registrants are asked to be present for the entire event and provide immediate notification if they are unable to do so.
