NOLS Wilderness First Aid Training

Looking for some fun and exciting training opportunities this summer?… Westcave and El Ranchito Camp are hosting a NOLS Wilderness First Aid course on Saturday, June 9th and Sunday, June 10th (7:45am – 5:00pm both days), at Westcave Preserve. We still have enough room for 4 more people to join us. Interested?? The Wilderness First Aid (WFA) course will help you prepare for the unexpected. This fast paced, hands-on training is designed to meet the needs of trip leaders, camp staff, outdoor enthusiasts and individuals working in remote locations. It will introduce you to caring for people who become ill or injured far from definitive medical care. Classroom lectures and demonstrations are combined with realistic scenarios where mock patients will challenge you to integrate your learning. At the end of the course, you'll have the knowledge, skills and ability to make sound decisions in emergency situations. The certification is good for 2 years, but doesn't include CPR so folks would need to get that separately. It's a 16-hour course, and the cost is $160. Bring a sack lunch.
