Did you know that Austin Water has programs that incentivize rainwater harvesting? Collecting rainwater in a barrel or cistern is a great way to ensure your plants are getting the water they need between rain events. Allowing rainwater to infiltrate on your property by using a raingarden (or other methods that “slows the flow”) helps trees get the water they need through a drought.
Join us for a virtual lunch and learn session on April 4th at 12PM, where Christopher Charles from Austin Water’s Conservation Division, will discuss the Rainwater Harvesting and Rainscape Programs. We’ll guide you through the application process, provide best practice info, and answer commonly asked questions.
