The Central Texas Cherokee Township is a non-political, non-profit Native American organization affiliated with the Cherokee Nation whose members reside outside the boundaries of the Cherokee Nation and Bands. We have come together on the basis of our shared history and heritage, and out of an interest in the continuation of and a love for Cherokee Peoples and Nations.

Join the City of Austin Office of Sustainability at a FREE screening of the film Gather, hosted by the Central Texas Cherokee Township. Stick around after the screening for a community discussion with special guests who will share information about Austin/Travis County’s first-ever food plan.

❓ ABOUT THE FILM: Gather is a portrait of a growing movement amongst Indigenous Americans to reclaim their spiritual and cultural identities through obtaining sovereignty over their ancestral food systems while battling against the historical trauma brought on by centuries of genocide.
