This virtual meeting will be the last time to offer input on the Landscape Transformation Ordinance effort for newly built single-family residential properties. The project will help Austin Water’s Water Conservation staff meet the initiatives of the
Water Forward Plan approved by City Council.
The options moving forward will be:
1. Pressure-regulating requirements for newly built irrigation systems
2. Limitations on how much automatic irrigation can be installed on a property
3. Requirements for Laundry to Landscape connections to be installed on new homes
4. Requiring homebuilders to use a city plant list for their landscapes.
We will discuss required irrigation inspections and enforcement of the options moving forward. The goal is to set up new homeowners for success with landscapes that use less water when supplemental irrigation is needed.
Please join us on August 10th at 6pm for our last virtual meeting.
